If College Basketball’s Tripping Epidemic Wasn’t Enough…
Then we have this item for you, as Maryland’s Diamond Stone took it up a notch. At the end of the first half, with Maryland down big to Wisconsin at home, the freshman phenom briefly lost his temper, tackling Wisconsin’s Vitto Brown after the whistle. To make matters worse, Stone pushed Brown’s head back into the ground as he was getting up. Take a look:

Stone was given a flagrant 1 for his actions, and subsequently suspended for a game by coach Mark Turgeon. Though Stone was apologetic after the game, it’s a shame to see any player lose his temper like that. Oh, and Wisconsin snapped Maryland’s 27-game home winning streak.
#Badgers Brown took phone call from Stone. Said apology was sincere. Said just a young player who lost poise.

Meanwhile, Maryland’s down at home by 15 to Wisconsin (?????) and Diamond Stone tried to kill a guy. Keep being weird, college hoops.

John Calipari QUICKLY Tossed
It took Coach Cal only two minutes and 26 seconds to earn his ejection on Saturday. After what he thought was a missed call by the officials, the future Hall of Famer was assessed a pair of technical fouls in short succession, leading to his immediate ejection. Despite this early setback, the Wildcats rally to win by 27 without their coach. After the game, Coach Cal said that he had “never been more proud of a team.” Something Calipari has been doing must be working, as the Wildcats have won three in a row and are starting to look like a dangerous team heading into the postseason.
I have never been more proud of a team. They are now empowered. They've proven that they dont need me and I love it.

The irony of Calipari being ejected in a game where perma-angry Frank Martin is on the other bench is delicious. pic.twitter.com/MdF7JUVymz

Did We Speak Too Soon About Kansas?
Ever since the end of the Jayhawks streak of 11 straight Big 12 titles was seen as potentially imminent by nearly every major college basketball outlet (including this one, many times), Kansas has been on a tear. The Jayhawks have won six in a row and now finds itself in the driver’s seat for yet another title. It’s uncanny.
Death, taxes, Kansas first place in the Big 12.

West Virginia now the only team a single game back of Big 12 overlords, errr, I mean leaders, Kansas.
— Travis Hines (@TravisHines21) February 18, 2016
Kansas is gonna win the Big 12 yet again. That streak is absolutely unbelievable.

Another Tobacco Road Classic
What a game, what a rivalry. Last night, Duke beat arch-rival North Carolina in another memorable chapter in arguably the greatest rivalry in sports. It was an incredible triumph for Duke, on the road and without Matt Jones for over half of the game. With time running down, freshman Derryck Thornton became the hero for Duke, as he blocked Joel Berry‘s last second jump shot. The Blue Devils have now won five straight over Carolina.
