- Steve Adams Heading to America Soon: “Well, I won’t bury the lead in this. In a story that gushes over Steven Adams is this big, big nugget. ‘Adams is set to graduate High School in New Zealand at the end of this year and will then transfer to Notre Dame Prep for the 2011-12 season to gain some American high school experience. - Cal Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Features UNLV, SDSU, Georgia: “Whether through luck or planning, Mike Montgomery’s Bears have faced an unusually tough non-conference schedule over the last two years. 2010-11 included eventual top seeds Kansas, Notre Dame and San Diego State. In 2009-10 Cal had Ohio St., Syracuse, Kansas and New Mexico. Both sets of tough schedules were mixed blessings – Cal generally had solid RPI and strength of schedule numbers, but they also suffered a number of early losses that seemed to damage Cal’s national reputation – for whatever that’s worth. - UNC Picks Up 2013 Commit: “Record time from offer to commitment? Isaiah Hicks, 6-7 power forward from Raleigh, NC committed to UNC this evening roughly two hours after receiving an offer from Roy Williams during a visit to Chapel Hill.” (Tar Heel Fan)
- Is It Decision Time For Drummond?: “As Kentucky continues to wait and see if Kaleb Tarczewski will pop by sometime this month for a visit before making a decision, Mike DeCourcy of the Sporting News says that it’s just about time for another five-star big man to make a decision of his own. - Chris Walker Still Waiting On Kentucky To Offer: “When the July evaluation period kicked off, one of the hot 2013 names for Kentucky fans was Chris Walker, a 6′10″ power forward rated by Rivals as the #3 overall player in his class. He famously slept through Calipari’s phone call when the recruiting period kicked off in June and said back around Christmas that the Cats were #1 on his list. Since then, John Calipari has been keeping tabs on him and his Florida Rams teammates, two of whom earned scholarship offers last month.
