Other Games
- Gonzaga 89, St. Mary’s 85 (OT): The Zags’ keys to the game included (1) beating SMC on offense with Sacre, Harris and Dower, (2) limiting SMC’s three-point attempts with skin tight perimeter defense, and (3) forcing SMC to take a higher-than-usual percentage of two-point shots. - Maryland Gets Commitment from German Forward Martin Breunig: “Sports fandom is fickle. A week ago, Maryland basketball seemed dead in the water. Now, they’ve won two straight, are back on the bubble, and just received a commitment from their top remaining target in the 2011 class, German combo forward Martin Breunig. Breunig visited for the N.C. State game, and though he has little idea of the national basketball scene, apparently felt well enough at home to pull the trigger right away.” (Testudo Times)
- Looking at the Bruins Tournament Picture: “With two weeks of Pac-10 regular season play remaining, and Selection Sunday just three and a half weeks away, it is getting to be time to look toward UCLA’s prospective status for the NCAA Tournament. It certainly is a popular topic – folks have been speculating for weeks about being on the bubble, off the bubble and who we have to beat in order to get in. With time getting short, it is about time to throw off concern of looking ahead of the task at hand, and see where the team stands in terms of its tournament chances.” (Bruins Nation)
