What’s Trending is a column examining the week that was in college basketball social media. Matthew Eisenberg (@matteise) is your weekly host.

Conference Play, where mayhem happens…

Prior to last Tuesday night, Kansas had beaten Texas Tech 16 consecutive times and had never lost against the Red Raiders (20-0) in the Sunflower State. Only twice had Texas Tech managed to keep the final score within 10 points at Allen Fieldhouse, so naturally Chris Beard‘s squad methodically beat the Jayhawks by 12 points to send shockwaves throughout the conference.

In 2015, Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings‘ on-court behavior led to headlines after an outburst at one of his own players. Late in last Tuesday’s loss to Louisville, Pittsburgh head coach Stallings was back with a headline-grabbing outburst, this time directed at a fan.

Wild endings were happening seemingly everywhere over the weekend. The SEC in particular had a pair of great finishes. First, Florida’s Chris Chiozza with this play for the Gators…

LSU’s Tremont Waters with a deep three-pointer to grab the Tigers a win at #11 Texas A&M…

Late Sunday night, Stanford went half-court to beat USC…

Another week, another surprise scholarship being awarded…

If Georgetown makes it into the Big East Tournament championship game this March, there might need to be a camera on Rob Dauster of NBCSports.com during the game.
