Indiana Takes the Big Ten
With its win on Tuesday night at Iowa, Indiana secured the outright Big Ten Championship. After a troublesome 5-3 start to the season, head coach Tom Crean‘s future in Bloomington was questionable at best. A steady resurgence in the second half of the year led to a conference title. Crean deserves that water shower!
Things Bleak For BC
After a heartbreaking loss to NC State this week, Boston College finds itself on the brink of ignominious history. With a loss on Saturday against Clemson, the Eagles would become the first school in ACC history to go winless in both basketball and football in the same season. At least the campus is pretty?
What Happens on Twitter Stays on Twitter
Well, not exactly. Just ask Minnesota freshman Kevin Dorsey. Dorsey, along with his teammates Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer, has been suspended for the rest of the season after a sexually explicit video appeared on his Twitter account. Although both the video and his account were promptly deleted, the long-term damage was already done. Despite later reports that Dorsey’s phone was stolen (and he therefore could not have posted the video himself), the suspension will hold for the time being.
Believe it or Not…
It’s already Championship Week! Woot! So far the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big South, MAAC, MVC, NEC, Ohio Valley and Patriot League Tournaments have begun, with several more starting over the weekend. Oh, and the Ivy League is once again coming down to the wire. Championship Week really is the beginning of March Madness, and we couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally here!
