Sights & Sounds: Top Four Dunks, Season’s First RTC, & Cliff Alexander’s Fake-Out

Another full weekend of college hoops is in the books, and although it didn’t hold the same level of excitement of the opening weekend, there were plenty of memorable moments. Here’s a collection of sights and sounds — buzzer-beaters, top dunks, and of course, the season’s first RTC — from the last three days. Enjoy.

Hilton Magic. The season’s first RTC took place on November 17, perhaps the earliest we’ve ever seen when Iowa State beat Michigan. Was it justified?

#4 Dunkdafied. Marshall’s Elijah Pittman got way, way up, and-one, for this lob against Morehead State on Sunday.

Buzzer-Beating. Kentucky’s Andrew Harrison hit a 75-footer right before the halftime buzzer versus Robert Morris, but unfortunately, he traveled before he released it. No bucket.

#3 Dunkdafied. Old Dominion’s Richard Ross took the hit for his own and-one against Murray State on Friday night.

Wrecking Ball. We’re surprised that Roy Williams didn’t eject the Belmont fan who decided to serenade James Michael McAdoo with a Miley Cyrus song during a trip to the line Sunday.

#2 Dunkdafied. This is just nasty, as UMass’ Raphiael Putney elevates for a major posterization over a poor soul from Youngstown State.

BrOTUS. The POTUS was at Sunday’s Maryland vs. Oregon State game, rooting for his brother-in-law’s Beavers (and chomping hard on some nicotine gum).

#1 Dunkdafied. This ridiculous dunk from Markel Brown will be on the year-end rundowns, no question about it.

Cliff Alexander’s Psyche! In case you missed it on Friday afternoon, Cliff Alexander psyched out Illinois fans everywhere by picking up an Illini hat first, before putting it down in favor of the Kansas one sitting next to it. He was lambasted for the “joke” afterward, and for the most part, deservedly.
