Notre Dame, fresh off its big RTC-worthy upset of #1 Syracuse on Saturday, heads to Seton Hall tonight to try to keep the momentum alive.
Game #71. Notre Dame hits the road for two difficult games this week after taking down previously undefeated and top-ranked Syracuse this past Saturday in South Bend. The Fighting Irish will make the trip to Newark tonight before heading to Connecticut to face the Huskies on Sunday. This is an important game for both teams, one (Notre Dame) trying to make a surprising charge at the NCAA Tournament bubble and the other (Seton Hall) trying to snap a two-game losing streak and get back to the basketball it had been playing that led to a stunning 15-2 start. The Pirates have not lost at home this season but are coming off consecutive disappointing road losses to South Florida and Villanova. Now back in the friendly confines of the Prudential Center, Seton Hall will try to halt the negative momentum and return to sharing the basketball and defending hard. The Pirates attempted 36 three-pointers in last week’s loss to Villanova, indicative of players putting themselves before the collective unit. As for Notre Dame, winning on the road has never been easy. If the Irish can follow the Syracuse win with a gritty performance on the road, folks may have to take them seriously as a possible NCAA Tournament team. Notre Dame has won eight of the last nine meetings between these teams (and 11 of the past 13) so the folks from South Bend have a little history on their side.
Join us shortly before the 8:00 PM eastern tip and follow along with RTC Live as the Irish try to get their second road win of the season while the Hall attempts to solidify its place in the top half of the Big East.
