ATB: So Louisville Plays Nightly Now?

News & Notes. It’s a light night here at RTC, so we’ll throw in some overdue links.

Tyreke Evans Celebrating RTC Honorable Mention

Louisville Plays Every Night. Louisville 78, Lamar 56. A few days ago, Louisville had played, like, a total of three games since the season began on Nov. 10.  Now they play every night (well, at least the last three nights).  Is this how Pitino punishes his players for losing to Western Kentucky, by forcing them to suit up in some Groundhog Day-like purgatory where Lamar/Ohio/Indiana St. continue to throw up brick after brick after brick?  It was the same-old for the Cards tonight, as they had twelve players score in the meticulous defeat of Lamar.  Samardo Samuels led Louisville with 15/6.

Wild & Wacky World of College Basketball. Georgetown 100, Savannah St. 38. Someone explain to us how it is that Savannah St. can play Michigan into OT – the same Michigan that has two top five wins over Duke and UCLA this season – but gets bombed by 427 pts by Georgetown?  The halftime score of this game was 57-15.  Yeesh.  The Hoyas shot 70%, while the Tigers made 22% of their attempts.  No single player stood out for Georgetown, but Greg Monroe had 13/7/3 blks.

Other Irrelevant Scores.

  • St. John’s 82, NJIT 54. Yep, 41 in a row.
  • Illinois 68, Hawaii 58. UIUC was +17 turnover margin.
  • San Jose St. 56, San Diego 52. It’s probably official now that USD needs to win the WCC to get an NCAA bid.  Good luck with that.

  • I hate to say it, but Michigan is nowhere near as good as their preformances against Duke/UCLA suggest. However, what Michigan has going is the dangerous unpredictable factor. Harris and Sims is quite a combo, but when others step it up, Michigan is capable
