The NCAA this week released its annual financial report on on the spending patterns of its member institutions&#8217; athletic departments, and the results, while not groundbreaking, are certainly interesting. The report (found in its entirety here) deals in aggregate numbers &#8212; meaning individual schools are not named &#8212; but the data from 2011 is still valuable. For example, among FBS (I-A) schools, the median revenue for a basketball program approached $5 million with profits of $812,000.
