Syracuse tipped off its season on Friday night with Orange Madness in the Carrier Dome. Jim Boeheim may be in the twilight of his great career, but the way his school renews the basketball year is not old-school at all. Much like Kentucky&#8217;s Big Blue Madness, the event attracts celebrities and is all about entertainment &#8212; making sure that players, fans and recruits enjoy the festivities. Sophomore forward Tyler Lydon is expected to have a breakout season for the Orange, but this week he experienced a different sort of breakout &#8212; a rash caused by poison oak which caused him to miss two days of practice.
