Welcome back to the weekend edition of Boom Goes the Dynamite. First off I’d like to commend rtmsf for his strong work on yesterday’s BGtD. You guys really have no idea how exhausting it is doing a full day’s worth of this is and he managed to do it with only a short break although it almost caused me to give up working on the site after being forced to endure the American–Holy Cross game yesterday. As he outlined in his After the Buzzer post last night/this morning, there are 12 conference championship games today. For the sake [...]]]> http://rushthecourt.net/2009/03/14/boom-goes-the-dynamite-031409/feed/ 22 SEC Wrapup & Tournament Preview http://rushthecourt.net/2009/03/11/sec-wrapup-tournament-preview/ http://rushthecourt.net/2009/03/11/sec-wrapup-tournament-preview/#respond Wed, 11 Mar 2009 16:26:27 +0000 http://rushthecourt.net/?p=6414

A lot of people have written off the SEC as an also-ran. It’s lacked a Top 20 presence most of the season and doesn’t figure to make a lot of noise in The Dance. LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee are looking like the only teams that have earned themselves a Tournament spot – save, of course, a surprising SEC Tournament champion. But in a conference boasting the likes of Jodie Meeks, Nick Calathes, Ole Miss’ Terrico White and others, it’s entirely plausible [...]]]> http://rushthecourt.net/2009/03/11/sec-wrapup-tournament-preview/feed/ 0 Checking in on the… SEC http://rushthecourt.net/2008/12/03/checking-in-on-the-sec-2/ http://rushthecourt.net/2008/12/03/checking-in-on-the-sec-2/#comments Wed, 03 Dec 2008 18:28:06 +0000 http://rushthecourt.net/?p=2800

The misery continues for the Southeastern Conference. Only one unbeaten remains after MSU, South Carolina and Tennessee dropped games, with only LSU keeping their heads above water. The Wildcats from Kentucky met a couple of high-profile-conference foes and matched up well, while Mississippi State dropped two close ones in their matchups against power-conference squads. As a whole, the conference is wallowing badly at the moment, but Tennessee – powered by All-American Tyler Smith – is looking like the perennial powerhouse they [...]]]> http://rushthecourt.net/2008/12/03/checking-in-on-the-sec-2/feed/ 1 Checking in on the… SEC http://rushthecourt.net/2008/11/25/checking-in-on-the-sec/ http://rushthecourt.net/2008/11/25/checking-in-on-the-sec/#comments Tue, 25 Nov 2008 21:40:17 +0000 http://rushthecourt.net/?p=2638

Okay, so the Southeastern Conference has…well…embarrassed itself. Kentucky got the party started with a home loss to VMI and as of this posting, only four unbeatens remain in what was formerly considered a “power conference.” This season is looking like a major reloading session for the SEC, as nearly every team is falling short of pre-season expectations. Stars like Shan Foster, Chris Lofton, Jamont Gordon and Marreese Speights have exited and the conference is feeling the losses in a big way. [...]]]> http://rushthecourt.net/2008/11/25/checking-in-on-the-sec/feed/ 4 2008-09 Conference Primers: #5 – SEC http://rushthecourt.net/2008/11/07/2008-09-conference-primers-5-sec/ http://rushthecourt.net/2008/11/07/2008-09-conference-primers-5-sec/#respond Fri, 07 Nov 2008 06:55:52 +0000 http://rushthecourt.net/?p=2027

What You Need to Know. The name of the game for the SEC this year is youth. The Western Division in particular, as nearly every team loses some nucleus from squads that formed a comparatively weak conference half as it was.
