The lack of basketball being played right now is upsetting, and though Midnight Madness draws near, the gap between that and actual games is still disconcerting. To add even more heartache, NBA labor talks broke down yesterday making the possibility of at least some professional games soon less likely. The San Antonio Spurs’ French star Tony Parker showed his lack of confidence in the labor process by signing with the French team ASVEL recently. Things are not looking good for basketball fans who want to see their favorite players in action. Desperate times call for desperate measures, so without further [...]]]> http://rushthecourt.net/2011/10/05/the-acc-fans-guide-to-french-basketball/feed/ 0 RTC Conference Primers: #30 – MEAC http://rushthecourt.net/2010/10/05/rtc-conference-primers-30-meac/ http://rushthecourt.net/2010/10/05/rtc-conference-primers-30-meac/#respond Tue, 05 Oct 2010 15:45:04 +0000 http://rushthecourt.net/?p=24737

Wouldn’t it be nice if this were Oct. 19 instead of Sept. 19?

Which Great White Hope is actually a better player? – maybe we’ll delve into that sometime soon. Gary Parrish takes a look now. The seemingly snakebitten AJ Price from UConn is supposedly all the way back from offseason ACL surgery. In completely unrelated news, UConn has added Lojack to all of its campus laptops. In a somewhat odd twist, the NCAA directed Indiana to delay its response to the latest allegations from the Kelvin Sanctions scandal last spring. The university now has until Sept. 26 to craft its response. Someone [...]]]>

As July leads into August, here are some tasty bits of knowledge for the summer heat…

Richmond’s top player Dan Geriot is expected to miss the 08-09 season with a knee injury. Auburn’s best player, Josh Dollard, was simply kicked off the team for not getting his sh!t together. Guess we know how Texas A&M-Corpus Christi made the Tourney two years ago. Thuggins, summertime, scofflaws. Any questions? It appears as if Illinois’ Jamar Smith violated the terms of his probation by drinking alcohol; he’ll learn his fate at a Sept. 17 hearing. In other news, a 21-year old ball player recently had sex with [...]]]>

In the spirit of the new school year and the imminent college football season…

First we offer the top 10 party schools in America. Looking at the top 5, might there be a link between hedonism, the South and football? Speaking of the dirty South, this future Clemson grad wants us to know that she has “the Iraq’s” education on her mind, er, something like that… Moving back to our bread & butter, in a tragedy of Odin-esque proportions, Oregon plans to take Phil Knight’s $100M largesse and use it to build a new on-campus arena. Sadly, McArthur Court will be tossed into the dustbin of great historical [...]]]>
