Texas Looks Like a Top Ten Team
The Longhorns came to play late last week, taking the 2K Sports Classic event at Madison Square Garden rather handily. Jonathan Holmes, the tournament MVP, emerged onto the national scene after going for 40 points and 18 rebounds in Texas’s two convincing wins over Iowa and California.
Holmes of Texas is multi talented -so so underrated on the national scene !

Jonathan Holmes is playing like an All-American.

Plus, mentioning Texas gives me the excuse to show you Cameron Ridley‘s insane block!
Kentucky Has an Interesting Week
The Wildcats actually struggled against Boston University before finally pulling away in the second half. On Sunday, however, they left no doubt by routing Montana State in their 86-28 win. In particular, the media wanted to talk about their defense. https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/536687321031389184 https://twitter.com/KyleTucker_CJ/status/536716225884487680 https://twitter.com/SportsCenter/status/536690512536010752
#AveryStrong
The University of Rhode Island put on a good performance both on and off the court on Saturday. On the hardwood, the Rams upset#21 Nebraska 66-62 in overtime; off the court, the fans and school put on an impressive showing in honor of Avery Harriman, the seven-year old son of Nebraska assistant coach Chris Harriman, who is caught in a fight against leukemia. Fans cheered for Avery and gave their players shirts to wear during warmups in his honor. Quite a cool showing. https://twitter.com/GaryParrishCBS/status/536370986476924928 https://twitter.com/teddyowens/status/536370037104586752
Texas A&M Grabbing Players Out of Nowhere
The Aggies added three new players to their roster before taking on New Mexico on Sunday. Houston transfer Danuel House led the team with 18 points, while British big man Dylan Johns’ and Columbian Tonny Trocha-Morelos’ impacts were not really felt in this one. https://twitter.com/BrentZwerneman/status/536601625096232960 House, a former five-star recruit, also threw down this dunk for good measure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91Jw2IMTevk
Quick Hitters
- Oklahoma’s TaShawn Thomas apparently caused “bench fatalities” after this huge finish against Creighton:
- UConn’s Ryan Boatright will drive right past you, and apparently, he’ll reject you too:
- North Georgia’s Shaquan Cantrell threw one down on Thursday Night:
- Wyoming’s Larry Nance Jr. with a huge posterization on San Diego State
- It was quite a weekend for dunks! Here’s one more from New Mexico’s Deshawn Delaney.
New Mexico's Deshawn Delaney has some serious hops. He showed them off on this #SCTop10 dunk vs. George Mason. http://t.co/nMjmzdoDOH
