But, given the last experience, I don’t think he’ll hire someone who’s already failed. Here’s what I predict: he’ll make a run at Shaka Smart, and maybe Gregg Marshall. Will likely be rebuffed so he’ll go to the next tier of candidates, and Wake will end hiring someone like Steve Masiello, Mike Lonergan, Tommy Amaker, or Michael White.

Worst case scenario is Mooney, which would still be better than Capel or Oliver Purnell.

It will be the best job open. I don’t think we will be at all interested in either of them though. Not with Howland’s SI scandal or with Pearl’s show cause.

I guess if Alabama is looking then that might be a tough decision just because the program is in better shape, but I don’t see how there’s even a discussion with the others.
