I for one, never expected to see Hairston in a Tarheel uniform this season, after the association with a known felon and the drug paraphanalia found outside the vehicle in addition to a weapon. There was just too much. I know Williams cares for his recruits, but he would have been better served when all this appeared to help Hairston find other options to help with his long term future, because it was apparent, at least to me, that the school administration would never allow him to play again regardless of what the NCAA said, there was just too much risk. It is a shame it had to get this far, both for Hairston and Roy Williams. Big time sports evokes big time politics, and there is not going to be any tolerance for this type of behavior at UNC. There is way to much to lose.

You are quite correct that the biopsies came back is benign. I am thinking that Lathan meant to say cancer scare and failed to proofread his article for accuracy. I find that quite common for journalists.
