RTC Live: Louisville @ Marquette

Posted by rtmsf on January 16th, 2012

It’s MLK Day and what better way to spend your afternoon than with some Big East basketball. Louisville visits Marquette desperately in search of its identity, while Marquette is simply trying to defend home court.

Game #67.  After dropping consecutive road games to Georgetown and Syracuse, Marquette has started its three-game homestand successfully with wins over St. John’s and Pittsburgh. The homestand ends on Monday afternoon when the Louisville Cardinals travel to Milwaukee to battle the Golden Eagles. After consecutive upset losses to Notre Dame and Providence, Louisville re-entered the win column Saturday with a home victory over DePaul. The Golden Eagles are led into the contest by senior guard Darius Johnson-Odom and senior forward Jae Crowder. The Cardinals are led by junior guard Peyton Siva and sophomore big man Gorgui Dieng. In an important Big East game for both squads, look for both Buzz Williams and Rick Pitino to have their teams ready to compete in what should be an entertaining matchup.
