RTC Live: Pittsburgh @ Marquette

More Big East, more of the time. It’s a battle between two teams that need to figure out what’s going on this Saturday, as Pittsburgh on a sinking ship visits Marquette, on a listing vessel.

Game #66. Struggling Pittsburgh will look to pick up its first Big East victory Saturday when the Panthers visit the Bradley Center to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles. Pittsburgh enters the contest with an uncharacteristic 11-6 overall record and an even more unusual 0-4 mark in the Big East. The Panthers’ season may have hit a new low point on Wednesday when they fell at home to Rutgers 62-39. After suffering consecutive road defeats to Georgetown and Syracuse, the Golden Eagles got back on the winning track Wednesday evening with a 19-point home victory over St. John’s. Marquette is led into Saturday’s matchup by senior guard Darius Johnson-Odom and sophomore forward Davante Gardner. Pittsburgh will need strong play from senior guard Ashton Gibbs and sophomore forward Talib Zanna if the Panthers want to enter the win column. After Wednesday’s embarrassing defeat, it would be a good bet that Panthers head coach Jamie Dixon has his squad ready to compete.
