RTC Live: Cincinnati @ Georgetown

Posted by rtmsf on January 9th, 2012

Not into football, no problem. RTC Live will be in Washington, DC, this evening for a Big East matchup between two teams who have been surprises in different ways this season.

Game #64. Welcome, fans, to downtown D.C. for a Big East clash between the hometown Hoyas and the visiting Bearcats. Both teams are coming off of winning-streak-snapping losses on Saturday. The Hoyas lost at West Virginia, 64-52, while Cincy was upset by St. John’s on its home floor on a buzzer-beating layup. The Bearcats had not previously lost since the infamous events of December 10, when they were defeated at Xavier. Both teams have been defensively strong this this year — Cincinnati with a quick, pressure defense, and the Hoyas with a long, athletic zone. The Bearcats have been playing a lot of four-guard lineups, while the Hoyas typically play three guys 6’7” or taller. Will that height disadvantage make a difference as the Bearcats try to stop Georgetown’s interior game? For its part, the Hoyas will need to cut off the three-point line and rebound the ball to keep the Bearcats’ offense quiet. Join us for courtside commentary on all that and more.
