RTC Live is back from the west side this evening for a trap game, as UNLV, fresh off of an upset victory over the nation’s #1-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday night, travel to Santa Barbara to face a team that will be a factor in the Big West race this season. Join us for our live coverage tonight, after the jump.

Game #44.  Saturday night, UNLV sent a stir through the college basketball world with a strong performance in taking down the nation’s #1 team, North Carolina. Behind strong rebounding and sizzling three-point bombing, the Runnin’ Rebels sent a Tar Heel team with multiple future lottery picks on its roster to its first loss of the season. At roughly the same time, UC Santa Barbara was going through a come-from-ahead loss to San Diego State in which the Gauchos gave up a late ten-point lead only to come back to force overtime, before blowing another lead and sealing their fate in frustrating fashion. Nevertheless, this is more or less the same team (plus a few additional parts) that knocked off the Rebels in Vegas last year. And with seniors Orlando Johnson and James Nunnally leading the way, there is enough talent on this roster to give just about anybody problems. However, the Gauchos may not have an answer for UNLV sophomore forward Mike Moser, who leads the nation in rebounds with 13.7 per game.  UCSB has been good on the boards so far this year, but Moser and the Rebel frontline provide a whole new level of challenge.
