Posted by rtmsf on November 11th, 2011RTC Live is pleased to be back covering games from coast to coast for its fourth season. Tonight Fake Gimel Martinez (@fakegimel) will be in Lexington to check in on the latest installment of John Calipari’s young crew of Wildcats. Join the conversation about the nation’s #2 ranked team tonight, after the jump.
Game 2: Kentucky starts their 2011-12 season tonight, hosting Marist at Rupp Arena. Coach John Calipari asked for better effort from his talented team in their last game and they responded with an 85-point win over D-II Morehead. While no one should expect a similar performance against Marist, the Red Foxes may not be much sterner competition: Marist won just six games last season and are 35-point underdogs. At least this will be the first game the Wildcats will compete against similar size: 6’10” forwards Adam Kemp and Pieter Prinsloo should see a lot of playing time. The Wildcats should be testing themselves with post-up play and effort on offensive rebounding. Or they’ll just implement their devastating full-court press and run the Red Foxes right out of the building.
