Sorry about that guys. I overlooked last year’s record and the 17-19 combines 2008-09 and 2009-10. 20-16 is the correct record for the last two seasons. Regardless, my point remains the same. Georgetown arguably hasn’t been as good as they should be (since the Final Four trip in 2007 and the 15-3 season in 2008) for a program with such tradition and history.

As for Vee Sanford, I saw nothing on the Georgetown athletics website mentioning his transfer. Not an excuse but that’s where I looked for most of my information.

The Hoyas haven’t finished below .500 in Big East standings over the last two years. So who did your math with the whole 17-19 (which is I believe under. 500) thing?

Good review. Unmentioned in the Villanova section was the staff turnover at the end of the season. After disappointing stretch runs in 2010 and 2011, Coach Wright reversed a youth movement on his staff in favor of experience. Hopefully the addition of former Navy Head Coach Billy Lange and Doug West, both of whom have already done stints on the staff, will translate into better game preparation, better defense and a better result in the last half of the Wildcats’ Big East schedule in 2012.
