This is especially hilarious considering the “Golden Era” consisted of a flukish Orange Bowl appearance and a laundry list of disappointing NCAA flameouts on the hardwood, esp in 2005 and 2009.

Would not surprise me if he looks for a NBA assistant job this spring. He did it after a tough season at Colorado (his second, he interviewed with the Timberwolves), difference being that if our AD has any sense he will encourage him to take an offer (of course our AD made this awful hire in the first place…). Clearly Bzdelik is in over his head. He might have a brilliant basketball mind, but that does not make him a good college head coach. I think it is no small coincidence that the only place he has had success is at Air Force, where discipline and motivation are givens. He simply does not have a strong enough personality to bring those things to a program.
Richmond is going to slaughter us. The ACC is bad, but the only game we will be favored in the rest of the season is against High Point. Going winless from here on out would not surprise me in the least.
This hire has set back the program at multiple years. We won’t fire him of our own accord until 2012, and he is not exactly stocking up the talent cabinet. Hopefully Ron Wellman, current AD, will not be involved in the next hire. He has mishandled the basketball program disastrously.
An arguably historically bad football season followed by an almost certainly historically bad basketball season. Guess that means the “Golden Era of Wake Forest sports” is over.
