I can’t get Jackson’s performance against Butler out of my head. Truly one for the ages.
]]>The problem standing between Syracuse and a National Championship is Jim Boeheim. What that you say? Yes Jim Boeheim that hall of fame top winning coach etc etc. Jim has NEVER felt comfortable playing more than 7. His inability to effectively rotate the backcourt will ultimately be his demise this year.
I expect Syracuse to still be a top 15 team to start and potentionally even with ONLY 7 players in rotation be in the top 10 nationally. In the end its a gamble, a gamble that cost Boeheim a National Championship last year after having to replace Orinze in the center with a freshman that played less than 2 minutes a game. Can a player coach 30 some odd years in the business change in one season? Nope!
Expect Syracuse to be good, and even great at times. But this team that could legitimately play 10 and be a dominating, frustrating, exhausting, pressing opponent. Instead Boeheim will stick to 7 and claim that Waiters or Riley or Southerland or the next 8th man just isnt ready. Yeah…OK JIM.
