  • So, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this mean that regional pods would be gone? Then we'd be right back to empty arenas for a top seeded Syracuse team in Spokane since they couldn't play a Regional Final at home, and you wouldn't want them playing on Tuesday in Buffalo and Thursday in SLC?

    • Not sure I'm following, as the regional round would be unchanged... A top-seed Syracuse would still be slotted to Buffalo with the 2d round bye on Thursday, and await whoever played there on Tuesday for the privilege to face the Orange in that round. Then the Orange would play again on Saturday, still in Buffalo, and the regional would be somewhere like SLC the following week.

Instead of each pod having eight teams as it does now, it would increase to twelve teams with four games on Tuesday, four games on Thursday, two games on Saturday.

Edited to add: I'm wrong about this. I misunderstood what Shaheen was saying, and it looks like you're right, as crazy as that might be.

  • The NCAA is worse than Wall Street. Just a bunch of mostly rich white males who want to get more rich. Can't complain about the current system and I guess credit goes out to the NCAA. But c'mon....you can't bring in all this cash off sports and then not pay the ones making you rich. It's insane.

NCAA Football system is broken and most fans hate it. But the few ones making the real money don't give a shit and won't listen to the fans.

NCAA Basketball - fans are perfectly happy with current system, and it's the best tournament around. But this expansion will ruin the magic of the first two rounds. And once again the NCAA doesn't give a shit about its fans - or the athletes, because they are making billions and not paying them for their efforts on the court.

    NCAA, go to hell.
