Jack:

Agreed. I got to see a few games at Xavier this season and was impressed with everything from the team, to the media relations people, to the arena itself…and most of all, the student section. I’d put them up against any student section in the country. GREAT environment.

And that game will go down as an all-timer. I don’t just think that’s “recentism” or the Shock of the New. Great individual performances, underdog team vs Big 12 squad seeded second, Elite Eight on the line, Gus Johnson/Len Elmore on the call…amazing stuff.

Brad Stevens’ quote last night after his Butler team beat Syracuse is fantastic, and certainly applies to the Musketeers’ effort last night and their entire season:

“There is no mid-major. Just guys playing basketball.”

Xavier fans should hold their heads high this morning. So far, this has to be THE game of the tourney!
