I’m not happy at all about Oakland’s blow-out losses to high majors Kansas, Michigan State, Memphis, and Syracuse (the losses to Wisconsin and Oregon were closer), but Oakland didn’t lose those games because of bad bench coaching. Ask the opposing coaches. And if you think Oakland’s other loss, to Eastern Michigan, was because Kampe was outcoached, then you should explain how EMU coach Charles Ramsey somehow orchestrated Larry Wright’s 0-9 performance from behind the arc and Derick Nelson’s 1-9 performance from the FT line.

Funny thing with Oakland is that they have nice depth in the back court with guys like Maynard, Eackles and Cushingberry off the pine, but they have virtually no confidence (and why should they, Ilija and Jay stink now) in any of the big men. Luckily for them Nelson and Maynard are aggressive and strong enough to play some 4 when need be.
