Right, the point is inconsistency (or perceived inconsistency) in the NCAA's dealings with schools. Logic and reason are applied differently in seemingly every case they consider. Much of this could be eradicated if the organization was more transparent in how it handles these things. The NCAA's way only encourages conspiracy theorists b/c nobody can seem to get a handle on how they make decisions.

tallguy, I think it simply means we heard nothing about the NCAA even asking if Ryan Kelly or anyone else on that coach's team were ASKED if they received money for unofficial visits. In that respect, it seemed suspicious to some. Given the handling of Maggette, any NCAA action that ignores a possibility of wrond doing with Duke is going to encourage the conspiracy folks.

"John Wall and Ryan Kelly, anyone?"

Umm, what does Ryan Kelly have to do with John Wall? Yes, they were teammates, but Kelly didn't take money from the coach on unofficial visits. (Also, Kelly isn't the projected #1 pick in next year's NBA draft, so there's that too). I know UK fans and Duke haters were all about the conspiracy after Wall got suspended, but seriously...

/not saying anything about Maggette, because that was weird
