In reply to tyus edney. Definitely true, Tyus. People back east don't seem to realize that LA to Oakland is about 350 miles (Boston to Baltimore would be nearly equivalent). Just b/c it's the same state (in name only) doesn't mean UCLA matters very much there. But having two SoCal regionals in three years really bodes well for the Bruins in those years.

I must say that schedule does bode well for future trips to the final four for UCLA. It would be surprising if they contend this year so its almost better they won’t waste a Socal regional final for this years squad. And the criticism they would get is a lot more legitimate then the crap they got about playing in Oakland or San Jose in years past. NorCal hates UCLA so why was that an unfair advantage?

I was reading something in one of the Detroit newspapers about Grand Rapids possibly getting a sub-regional, but sadly, this looks like it isn’t happening anytime soon. Damn.

Omaha had a regional in 2008 and we got to see the eventual National Champ Kansas. It was a lot of fun and glad to see Omaha is on the list again in 2012. I know I will be there again.
