If we hadn’t included upstate NY in that region, we would have ended up with guys from Maine and Wesleyan on our all-region team.

Thanks for the insights, JTruman. Dyson’s defense is definitely something the Huskies missed in the game against MSU in the F4.

He is freakishly athletic & powerful. Introverted, by nature, & he missed the first semester of last season, but he was an absolute beast at the end of last season. Look for him to be a factor in this year’s Husky squad.

They are going to be less experienced, at positions, than last year’s squad. Obviously, too, as they have lost quite a bit to “graduation” & the NBA. But they will be sneaky, & if the new players mesh, & Dyson is back, & Robinson is ready, if Kemba has matured, if Majok acclimates quickly, you could be looking at a tough out in March.

But specific to Dyson, it’s often mentioned that he is the team’s best outside shooter, & that’s what they missed when he went down, but he did an awful lot more than that. Even his shot is not money. There are no Ben Gordon’s on this squad. But Dyson is close. What he does well is get the ball to the basket. If you can recall, early to mid way through last season there was a lot of talk about the disparity of FT’s taken, by UConn, to the amount they allowed.

Awesome, awesome statistic (not unlike leading the nation in blocked shots for 8 consecutive years). The numbers elude me, & I’m on a roll, so I’m not going to look them up. Sufficed to say, Dyson was a major factor in that. What he does well, is take the ball to the basket. He’s tough as nails, & gets the ball on the rim, w/ the best of them. That was sorely missed after his injury. He is also hte team’s best defender, on the perimeter. Maybe the best they’ve had, which may come as a surprise to Ricky Moore, who’s long been anointed into that role.

So yes, they welcome back Dyson’s outside shooting, but they also welcome back his defense, they welcome back his driving ability & they welcome back his lunch bucket, tough guy ethic. The Huskies will be game this season. &, if the old pieces are healthy, & have matured; if the new guys mesh well, they might just surprise & hang around late into the Dance…

You’d know better than us on those Cuse players, but damn, we just love us some Onuaku.

Jameson, what would it take to bring you over to the RTC team with all your great ideas? A backrub from Nvr?

b) Love the map
c) I was on doing close to the same thing using UMapper like I had been for the best games and recruits.
d) Now I need a twist or else I’m gonna be looking like I’m stealing your idea!
