I think Zach was trying to point out the game that is most likely to not be competitive. It doesn't mean that it won't be or that the Orange can't pull off the upset (if Chaminade can knock off Virginia anything is possible), but there is a distinct possibility that Nova will win pretty easily.

Syracuse lost to Villanova at home last season.

Syracuse lost their top 3 scorers.

Villanova returns their 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th leading scorers and have a top-5 recruiting class.

This isn't difficult stuff.

Villanova won a very close game while Syracuse missed 3 potential game tying threes in the last 10 secs, and Flynn had missed the last two practices before the game with the flu. How does that prove anything? I mean I understand saying that Syracuse has lost a lot of talent, even though they're gonna shock a lot of people with how good they'll be (Onuaku, Jackson, Johnson, and frosh Riley = best front court in the BE), but bringing up a game that Villanova barely won last year just doesn't make sense.

[...] Rush the Court has a nice breakdown of the various games here. But in a more general way, it’s worth nothing that College Gameday has managed to not only get to some of the best and most "important" (in so far as college basketball is important in a world at war) locales in the country, they’ve managed to spread themselves very nicely across the college basketball landscape. Gameday will touch down in every major conference from coast to coast. And they’re even getting a women’s game in there, too. [...]
