Anyone who's any good either plays US NCAA D1 hockey or Junior Hockey in Canada. Canadian university hockey is made up of kids who either played junior hockey but didn't get drafted, or people who aren't good enough for US NCAA.

Boston need not worry.

Carleton University who has won the CIS (Canada's NCAA) 5 out of the six past years has posted a fairly respectable record against DI schools, somewhere in the .500 range. Although they have lost to most the the "big" names Kansas (84-83 Fall 2008), University of Cincinnati (64-54 Fall 2008), Illinois (74-72 in OT Fall 2007), Villanova (61-46 Fall 2007) and Louisville (82-49 Fall 2007) they do win games.

Rico is right about the hockey, it just isnt that good. The Major Jr is where all the best players go. NCAA would be in tough to compete against those teams to draw attendance as well in Canada.

"say goodbye to that NCAA hockey title Boston University"

Actually, NCAA hockey teams play exhibition games against CIS teams all the time, and the usual result is a sound thumping doled out by the NCAA team (at least against D1 teams, CIS is more comparable to D3). Why? Because CIS hockey kinda sucks. The good Canadians (who don't choose the Major Junior route) are already playing in the NCAA, CIS is mainly overage Junior wash-outs and guys who weren't good enough for NCAA teams. Last season CIS teams posted a 5-39-2 record against NCAA D1 teams...
