That’s a fair assessment. One thing we neglected to talk about was his turnover numbers for this year (117 vs. 109 assists). For the college game, that’s really weak, and especially for a guy as physically ready as he was (he’s already 21 yrs old). Great point on his iso skills as well. Point taken.

Having seen him a couple of times in person this year, and several times on TV, I would really doubt if he plays the point in the NBA. His game is perfectly suited to that of an NBA off guard – he would excel at iso plays where he can take his man off the dribble or pull up. I think there was some anti-Mayo backlash at the beginning of his USC career for the very reason that people were expecting a big point guard in the mold of LeBron, but he’s just not that guy.
