Also keep in mind the ranking is designed to teach student athletes the importance of looking at ALL of their options. Far too many recruits simply narrow in on Division I schools and don’t go through the in depth search to maximize scholarship dollars and find the right fit.

We are usually in the top 25 of the US News academic rankings and we tend make other top 10,25, and 50 academic lists (some academics dislike the US News rankings, but that is the most popular). We also have a record 100 NCAA titles and we have the most number of titles for a wide range of sports, including men’s basketball, men’s volleyball, and maybe men’s and women’s water polo. I would think these achievements and academic merit would place UCLA is a top 50 athletic/academic combo. But hey, we all can manipulate numbers to produce whatever list we want. It also seems fishy that USC is not on your list. While I hate giving USC props, they also have a large number of NCAA titles to boast and they also have a high academic ranking. Maybe you just hate LA.
