I think the last dominant bigman Duke had was Elton Brand. Sheldon Williams was solid defensively, but at 6′7″ – 6′8″ 260 E.B. was a beast. I definitely respected him…still do as a pro. If I recall correctly, wasn’t he the first Duke player to leave for the NBA early? Maybe E.B. knew what was “going on” with the program and bolted early. Just wandering.
